525019 / 230956 RV Furnace Igniter Electrode

Key Features

  • High-Voltage Spark Delivery: Engineered to provide a consistent, high-intensity electrical arc for rapid ignition of Liquid Propane (LP) gas, ensuring your RV furnace starts reliably in cold weather.
  • Premium Ceramic Insulation: Features a high-density, heat-stabilized ceramic body that prevents electrical "arcing" to the furnace chassis, directing the full spark energy to the burner head.
  • Dual-Probe Sensing Design: Serves a dual purpose by providing the ignition spark and acting as a flame sensor (thermocouple replacement) to signal the control board that a flame has been established.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Alloy: The metal probes are manufactured from a specialized high-temperature alloy designed to resist oxidation and carbon buildup, extending the intervals between maintenance.

Compatibility & Fitment

This electrode is specifically designed for older Suburban RV furnaces. It is NOT compatible with newer furnaces manufactured after May 1992. Key fitment details include:

  • Suburban NT Series: Fits NT-24, NT-30, NT-34, and NT-40 models.
  • Suburban P Series: Compatible with P-40S high-capacity models.
  • Serial Number Constraint: Strictly for units with serial numbers BELOW 920500001.
  • System Type: Designed for 12V DC electronic ignition (DSI) systems utilizing the dual-probe configuration.
  • Note: If your serial number begins with "9205" or higher, you likely need part #525028 instead.

When to Replace

  • Furnace Clicks but Won't Light: You can hear the rapid "ticking" of the igniter, but the gas fails to ignite, often due to a weak spark or dirty probes.
  • Ignition Lockout: The furnace lights for a few seconds and then shuts off. This indicates the flame-sensing side of the electrode is no longer sending a signal to the control board.
  • Cracked Ceramic Insulator: Visible hairline cracks in the white ceramic allow the electricity to "leak" to the metal frame, preventing a spark at the burner.
  • Soot or Carbon Deposits: Heavy black buildup on the metal probes acts as an insulator, blocking the spark and the flame-sensing current.
  • Visible Erosion: The metal probes have burned down or become significantly shorter over years of use, making the gap too large to jump.

Installation Tips

  • Safety First (CRITICAL): Turn off the main LP gas supply at the tank and disconnect the 12V DC power before removing the furnace access panel.
  • Set the Spark Gap (PRO TIP): Before installing, verify the gap between the two probes is exactly 1/8 inch (3.2mm). If the gap is incorrect, the furnace will fail to ignite.
  • Clean the Burner: While the electrode is removed, use a small brush or compressed air to clear any spider webs or rust flakes from the burner slots directly beneath the electrode.
  • Check the Lead Wire: Inspect the high-voltage wire connecting the electrode to the board. If the insulation is brittle or cracked, it should be replaced along with the electrode.
  • Test the Sense: After installation, ensure the furnace stays lit. If it shuts off after 7 seconds, double-check that the electrode is positioned directly in the path of the flame for proper sensing.

Wide surface
Style: Lawn Edger/Tool Only
The edger has a very strong motor cuts great! As long as you are placing the edger on a wide flat surface. If the area you want to edge is along the curb and narrow the edger is to big and bluky for a narrow edge strip

Very good lawn edger
It does a great job and easy to create straight, clean lines. Does not do well going around curves.
