The Borla SwitchFire® X-Pipe is a high-performance resonator replacement assembly specifically engineered for the Ford Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse (5.0L V8). This system utilizes Borla's patented SwitchFire® technology to replace the restrictive factory resonator. Unlike traditional X-pipes that have a turbulent center intersection where exhaust gases collide, the SwitchFire® design uses hydroformed internal passages to truly blend and merge the combustion pulses from both sides of the engine. This process eliminates turbulence, resulting in improved exhaust flow, increased horsepower, and a significantly more aggressive, custom exhaust note.
Constructed from premium T-304 austenitic stainless steel, this assembly is built for maximum durability and corrosion resistance. The hydroforming manufacturing process allows for a lower profile than conventional SwitchFire® pipes, ensuring optimal ground clearance for the S650 Mustang chassis. The unit features 2.25-inch O.D. inlets and 2.5-inch I.D. outlets that are angled outward slightly to ensure a precise connection points.
