In de geur aroma’s van rijpe appel, abrikoos en gekonfijte citroen, aangevuld met brioche, geroosterde amandel en een vleugje honing. Wanneer de wijn wat meer lucht krijgt, komen ook tonen van sinaasappelschil, gedroogd fruit en lichte specerijen naar voren.

Wat je proeft
Droog van stijl met frisse, levendige zuren. Smaken van rijpe appel, citrus en abrikoos worden gevolgd door brioche, geroosterde noten en een lichte toasttoon. Doordat Louis Casters geen malolactische omzetting toepast, behoudt de wijn zijn frisse karakter en duidelijke citruszuren, terwijl de rijping voor extra complexiteit zorgt. De afdronk is lang, droog en zuiver.

Oogst & Wijnbereiding
Cuvée J.L. Multimillésimé is een assemblage van meerdere zorgvuldig geselecteerde oogstjaren. Door verschillende jaargangen te combineren ontstaat een champagne met extra diepgang en een consistente huisstijl. De basiswijnen vergisten volledig in roestvrijstalen tanks en ondergaan geen malolactische omzetting, waardoor de natuurlijke frisheid behouden blijft. Na de tweede gisting op fles rijpt de wijn meerdere jaren op de gisten voordat hij wordt gedegorgeerd.

Lekker bij: Coquilles, kreeft, gevogelte, kalfsvlees, romige kazen en gerechten met paddenstoelen.
Bewaarperiode: Nu mooi op dronk. Bij goede kelderomstandigheden kan de wijn zich na aankoop nog 5–8 jaar verder ontwikkelen, waarbij aroma’s van honing, geroosterde noten en toast meer naar voren komen.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

This book wasn't bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. It's highly disappointing because the storyline is so original. There is no real conflict or resolution, so the entire thing feels flat. As a lover of omegaverse books, I know there is a ton of variety out there, and ov is really up to the author. But this one is weird. Omegas have multiple scent glands all over their bodies and go into week long heats every month. Alphas have knots in the middle of their shaft instead of the base, and the knot doesn't always swell, no explanation of when or why. It doesn't engage at all when the mouth is in play. I also didn't enjoy the author's writing style. Each paragraph is only 1 or 2 sentences long, and the entire book reads very stacato. The conversations are stiff and unnatural feeling. Everything is very repetitive, both in word choice and in thought. The same thing is repeated 3 or 4 times over a single page, multiple times over. I ended up doing so much skimming. The first 50% of the book is all slow burn, and the last 50% is almost straight mediocre spice. This wouldn't have been all bad if the grammar and spelling errors didn't start at the exact same time. Tongue is repeatedly misspelled in the middle of the spice.
