Fronsac lijkt in veel opzichten op het beroemde Saint-Émilion. Op welke bodems worden rijke, rijpe merlot-gedomineerde wijnen gemaakt met een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Fronsac ligt op de rechteroever van Bordeaux, naast de rivier de Dordogne, niet ver van de stad Libourne. Net als in Saint-Émilion zijn veel van de bodems rijk aan klei en bevatten ze veel kalksteen. Het is een ideaal terroir voor de merlotdruif, het grootste deel van de aanplant vormt, gevolgd door cabernet franc. Fronsac is één van de meest dynamische appellations van dit moment in Bordeaux. Investeerders van buiten Bordeaux, moderniseringen en biodynamisch werken zorgen voor veel dynamiek.

Château Carlmagnus 2022 wordt gemaakt van 100% merlotdruiven van 35 jaar oude wijnstokken. De vinificatie vindt plaats in eikenhouten foudres van 30, 40 en 50 hl, gevolgd door een rijping van 18 maanden volgt in barrique (waarvan 50% nieuw). Deze wijn wordt gemaakt in samenwerking met Hubert de Boüard van het befaamde Château Angélus.

Keeping track of longevity. Had these bulbs for a month and will try and update if they fail. Unfortunately a while ago I hit a cow, seemed to just pop up out of nowhere, the truck was rebuilt and I wanted more/better road lighting. I am using these in a Mack truck for work so they are getting used. I run at least 10 hours a day, 5+ days a week and have at least 11k miles on them since installed. Install is just like a standard bulb no special steps needed. Produce a lot of light and good patterns on high and low beam. So far I really have only had one issue with the bulbs and that is the daylight running light/DRL operation, they don't work I believe the Mack drops the voltage to slightly dim the lights when running in DRL operation and this causes the bulbs to just intermittently flash so I just run with them on all the time. This I don't believe is the bulbs fault and is more an analog vs digital issue. Therefore I'm testing the longevity of the bulbs if my truck is running they are on. Will see how they do as the days get hotter as they are in a small sealed space.
