Pioneer's NEX or networked entertainment experience line of receivers features an innovative and powerful new user interface that is responsive and highly customizable. The NEX models are designed especially for today's smart phone driven lifestyle.
Modular Solutions
Pioneer’s Modular Solutions receivers are designed for applications, often newer vehicles, with limited depth behind the dash that prohibits the installation of a traditional 1DIN or 2DIN receiver. This installation flexibility is achieved by physically separating the LCD touchscreen display from the sub-chassis that contains the CPU, control system, terrestrial radio tuner, amplifier and input/output connections. This allows the sub-chassis to be mounted in a different location* or different horizontal/vertical orientation within the vehicle. To simplify installation and increase vehicle applications, Pioneer and Metra Electronics are partnering to developing vehicle specific Radio Install Kits** that make the Pioneer Modular Solutions receivers both cosmetically integrated and simple to install.

Apple CarPlay
The DMH-C2550NEX features Apple CarPlay, the smarter, safer and more fun way to use your iPhone® in the car. Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music, and access messages with just a word or a touch.

Android Auto
The DMH-C2550NEX also features Android Auto which extends the Android platform into the car in a way that’s purpose-built for driving. Android Auto automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into simple cards that appear just when they’re needed. It’s designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead.
Android Auto is compatible with Android phones running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Android Auto may not be available on all devices and is not available in all countries or regions.
Hands-Free Calling and Audio Streaming
Stay safe and obey local hands-free laws with built-in Bluetooth (HFP). Easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the DMH-C2550NEX without having to go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units.
From hands-free calling, wireless audio streaming (A2DP) with artist, album, and song search, simple pairing, and audio control (AVRCP), Bluetooth® wireless technology has made life
in the vehicle much more convenient. The DMH-C2550NEX with Bluetooth also includes better call quality reception using the newWideband Speech Handsfree Profile 1.6. Nearly doubling the bandwidth of the frequency helps bring call quality similar to FM reception.
Other features include the ability to browse music libraries on smartphones wirelessly.
A Better-Than-Ever Listening Experience
Pandora is personalized internet radio that is designed to help you discover new music that you'll love mixed in with music that you already know. With the DMH-C2550NEX, you can enjoy superior sound quality and full control of the Pandora experience in your car directly from the touchscreen display of the receiver. You are able to give tracks "thumbs up" or "thumbs down," bookmark a song so you can purchase it later, easily switch between your personalized radio stations, and view full track data and album art.

If you are a Spotify premium user (requires a monthly paid subscription), you can enjoy ad-free, high quality music and even download music and listen offline when there is no internet connection.

USB Direct Control for iPod/iPhone
Pioneer's DMH-C2550NEX is ready to roll with direct connectivity to your iPod or iPhone via an optional USB interface cable (sold separately) depending on your iOS device. Song, artist, time and album information are beautifully displayed on the 7" touchscreen. Powerful searching tools such as Link Play and Alphabet Search to help you find content faster.
The system's wired USB connection provides direct digital signal transfer from the device for clean, clear sound while providing 1 amp of current to keep your iPod/iPhone charged.
