Der Sauvignon Blanc aus der Einzellage Kozana zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie eigenständig und tiefgründig Sauvignon Blanc aus dem slowenischen Brda sein kann. Die kalk- und mergelreichen Böden („Opoka“) rund um Kozana verleihen dem Wein eine markante mineralische Spannung und eine fast burgundische Struktur. Edi Simčič setzt dabei bewusst nicht auf laute Sauvignon-Aromatik, sondern auf Eleganz, Textur und Herkunft.

2020 wirkt der Wein ruhig und komplex, mit enormer Tiefe und gleichzeitig erstaunlicher Frische. Statt vordergründiger Exotik stehen feine Kräuterwürze, mineralischer Druck und eine sehr präzise Struktur im Mittelpunkt. Mit Luft entwickelt der Wein zusätzliche Spannung und eine fast salzige Länge, die ihn besonders charaktervoll macht.

Der Ausbau im Holzfass ist perfekt integriert und verleiht zusätzliche Komplexität, ohne die Herkunft der Lage zu überdecken. Dadurch wirkt der Kozana Single Vineyard sehr fein und international zugleich – ein Sauvignon Blanc mit burgundischer Eleganz, viel Struktur und langem, mineralischem Nachhall.
