Goebel schuf er im Jahr 2000 die zwei Meter große Hummelfigur Wanderbub. Mit seiner Leidenschaft für das Zeichnen und die Malerei entstanden Buchillustrationen und Grafikarbeiten. Seine Motive wirken spontan und spielerisch. Dabei sind ihm seine drei Katzen zuhause hilfreiche Ideengeber.
